This is a private room with its own private bathroom, located in a flat share. There are three other rooms in the house so you can be as social as you want with the rest of the housemates (I live here too); or enjoy your own quiet moments. There's a swimming pool and gym in the compound that are freely accessible to all guests. The rate includes rent, electricity, wifi, cooking gas, water, bedding & cleaning. You'd need to buy your own food and toiletries though.

The kitchen, dining and living room is shared. Feel free to use the dining area as a working station. The Smart TV has local channels, Netflix, Showmax and an android box for more content. Sit back, relax on the reclining seats and binge watch that series :) However, bear in mind that it's a shared house so try not to monopolise the remote :) Somehow people find common stuff they can watch together so not to worry :) There is also a chess board, playing cards, scrabble, Cards Against Humanity, some charade cards, pop quizzes and we welcome more games!

Ezinye izinto okumele ziqashelwe
Weekly cleaning of all rooms and laundry is done on Saturdays. This includes dishes so perfect excuse to show off your cooking skills on a Friday night and not worry about the dishes in the sink :) Yeah, once in a while, we have communal dinners, courtesy of a volunteer, but there is no obligation to do so :)

PS: It is possible to run laundry on any other day, on condition that there is enough load to run the 9Kg drum, to save on energy. Drying in the open air is also preferable to the dryer.

Nairobi, i-Kenya

Kileleshwa is centrally located and is one of the safest neighbourhoods in Nairobi. It's very popular with expatriates and middle to upper middle class Kenyans. There are several options for shopping, eating out and night outs around it. However, common sense should still prevail, just like elsewhere in the world ;)

Hi there, I am in my 30s, born and bred in many corners of my lovely country Kenya. I have been hosting on Airbnb since 2013 and enjoy meeting different people, especially because there is always something new to learn from everyone I cross paths with. I have also had my fair share of home hospitality (through Airbnb and couchsurfing) so only happy to share my home and hope you find it your home away from home. My interests include travelling (which has taken me to all continents; and around my beloved Kenya), music concerts/festivals, dancing , watching movies/series/mindless TV, hiking/trekking, camping, participating and winning at trivia (pub) nights, learning new board games/recipes/French and knowing very random things. I am a trained Accountant/Sociologist/Economist, now leaning more towards Economics and life in general ;) I work full time but happy to show you around when free, if that is something you would like. This is limited during Covid-19 pandemic though :-/ PS: The extrovert in me would be happy to interact with you but kindly note that I won't always be social due to the usual demands of work and life in general; plus I also need to entertain the introvert side of me ;)

Phakathi nokuhlala kwakho
I live in the same house, but the frequency of interaction with me depends on when you visit and what's going on at the time. I am Kenyan and know Nairobi quite well so could be a useful resource on how to get somewhere, where to get what, prices etc. I am also well travelled so could offer useful travel advice to other international destinations.
