You can catch the green line at either U Street (10th and U NW) or at Shaw/Howard University (7th and S St NW). The quickest way to the mall is to get out at Archives and walk. You can also catch the 70 at 7th and S St NW, and it will take you down to the mall. You can also catch the 64 at 11th and S St NW, and it will drop you right at the Natural History Museum.
