Growing up, a 4th of July crab feast at our home was the quintessential Marylander experience! Call up Waterman’s Seafood and get some cooked blue crabs to go (we order them by the bushel!). At our home you’ll find everything you need to host your own crab feast out in our 3 picnic tables.

We love this place. Probably busy during peak season since it’s right on the boardwalk but if you’re a couple weeks late or early to the peak season, you can get easy parking and walk right in. Service was fast and food was great. They also own Coastal Smokehouse in West OC.

Sightseeing
Spend a day at the boardwalk, getting in some exercise and browsing through shops. We like to start on 28th street to walk the full length and when you get all the way down to the end, you’ll can enjoy the full carnival on the pier!

Whether going for a walk, a bike ride or to take the kids to one of its two playgrounds, Northside Park does not disappoint. Not far from the house on 125th St., the 58-acre park is OC’s largest and often has events throughout the year, including their Winterfest of Lights during the winter season.

Definitely something to see in OC is the Ocean Gallery! With “decorated” and unique cars outside (a bat mobile!), and a packed house inside, kids and adults alike will marvel at this sheer collection of funky artwork!

Things To Do
Some of our favorite activities in and around OC.
While seeing a movie on vacation may seem odd, the Fox Theater is in walking distance from our home and was recently fully renovated to a luxury theater with reclining seats! When we go, we like to head over to the Gold Coast Mall first, and grab dinner from Sophia’s Italian Restaurant. Then, after our movie we finish up at Candy Kitchen with sundaes for the whole family!

Every summer, my grandfather and I would head down to 53rd Street to find O.C. Parasail. An adrenaline-filled activity at first, parasailing actually ends up being relaxing and serene as you take in the OC coastline.

Look up “The Bay Bee” to book a fun an reasonably priced fishing charter. I’ve been on the Bay Bee many times as a kid and often brought back flounder, even a king fish once. The kids will love it!

OC has tons of speedboats, that are awesome for a thrill! Check out the Sea Rocket, the OC Rocket, the OC Screamer and more! Oh, and bring a change of clothes!

Jolly Roger’s is a blast. They have a regular amusement park (for you landlubbers) and a water park too! Some of my best memories here are racing my cousins down the water slides!

Take the bus in the summer!
During the summer months, Coastal Highway is packed and the fastest way to get around is by bus! Our home is convenient located next to a bus stop - one on either side of our Main Street. Fare is $3/day and during the season buses typically run from 6am-2am.
